Allen Talks About Living at Elm Terrace
“What I like about the community is so compact and there are so many services so easily available. I have my doctor here, medicine that I get from the drug store, delivered right to me. The nursing care is fabulous. In fact, Betty is like a mother to me, and she just takes care of so many people so well.”

“Here, I am very very active. I love doing all the things that they offer. I like all the games that I play. I’m involved in Pinochle two nights a week, Rummikub , two afternoons a week, and I go out to bingo at Corpus Christi one night a week, so I’m really very active. Anything that’s a sport or game, I like it. I’ve dealt with everybody since being here. I’ve had the physical therapy and dealing with the nurses and the doctors. They are very caring and helpful to me in any way that they can be. I would tell anybody that would like to move in that it’s a very great place. “

“There’s a lot of things that I like about the community. One of the things that is probably most important is the friendliness of the staff. I find the staff here very friendly no matter whether it’s an aid or somebody just laboring in housekeeping. I appreciate the fact that what you need to have done, they get done for you, whatever you ask of them. No matter what happens in your apartment, they’ll take care of it from a maintenance standpoint….Everybody knows you, and I think everybody in here must know me, because I’ve been here nine years, and they’ve visited me one time or another. I just think it’s a good location, it fits my financial situation very easily, and I expect to be here for many more years until the Lord calls me to come home to him. I’m here, I’m going to stay.”

“It’s very nice being in Independent Living, because I can come and go as I please. There’s never any restrictions… I stay active in many, many activities around here. We play shuffleboard and even poker, and I enjoy all these. We have a very active group. I got to know a lot of Landsdale people, and I just love them. I have not had any bad experiences.”

“I’ve had a dog all my life, growing up, everything. My wife and I started looking at all the independent living places in the area. When they said you can bring your dog in, we both looked at each other and said, ‘That’s it, we’re going to come here.’ It really is independent living… It’s small enough to be on your own and also be around people that are nice to you.”
